RTK 01/29/08 10:10:18 PM
RTK (Real Time Kenematics) requires serveal components, Valve, Autosence, Controller, Display, Radio, and GPS Receiver. First is the equipment install on the tractor, sprayer, combine, etc... This equipment consist of a control valve (if not auto track or accu-guide ready). This valve taps into the steering to provide Trimble with control of the wheels or tracks. We do not replace at anytime the factory control valve. Some John Deere track models do not require this valve therefore reducing the initial cost of the system.. After the valve install, there is an autosence sensor that is placed on the pivot point on the front end. This sensor measures the degrees of which the wheels are turning therefore telling the system how to correct the turn. Once the autosence is in place the display will be mounted in the cab, this display is the customer interface with the system. It will tell you valued data such such as: field data, correction, GPS speed, system status, pluss much much more. Then the GPS receiver is mounted along with the 900Mhz radio. This radio is used to communicate with the base station network. All of these components connect to the controller. The controller is the on board computer / processor, it is the "brain" of the system. In unison with the network RTK provides 1" accuracy pass to pass as well as year to year. To obtain RTK, a subscription fee may apply.
